Before coming to VMware, I received my Ph.D. in Computer Science from Carnegie Mellon University. My thesis was awarded an Honorable Mention award at the CMU School of Computer Science Dissertation Award. This section lists articles on Byzantine bug tolerance (BFT), which are often used as the basis for authorized blockchains. Since its inception in the 1980s, distributed consensus and related fields of atomic broadcasting, state machinery replication, and Byzantine error tolerance have been the subject of extensive academic research. This file contains a list of papers (and other works) that relate to the consensus distributed. This section lists documents describing stand-alone assessments of consensus algorithms. This section lists articles describing consensus algorithms for WAN and/or geo-replicated systems.
